Chemtran UN Certified PACKAGE CLOSURE INSTRUCTIONS

 

4GV 201514 – 6 x 1 Qt. Bottles

 

 

The certification of this package requires that it be assembled according to the instructions below.  The packaging materials must be identical [49 CFR 178.601 (c) (4)] to these indicated in this UN Test Report.  Any deviation from these packaging instructions or material will result in package non-compliant with this UN-Certification.

 

PACKAGE DESCRIPTION

One outer package containing: six (6) – 1 Qt. Clear Glass French Square Bottles with Black Resin Phenolic Screw Caps which were secured to the bottles using one (1) strip – 1” Pressure-Sensitive Vinyl Tape, and Solid Polyethylene Liner.  The bottles were placed into the box along with one (1) – 26” x 40”x 0.002” Non-Gusseted Polyethylene Bag and Vermiculite.

 

 

Package Assembly Instructions

 

  1. Seal the bottom of the box using (2 strips) – 2” clear 375 lb. 3m scotch brand Pressure-Sensitive Tape allowing at least 4” overlap on each side of the box.

 

  1. Place the poly bag into the box.

 

  1. pour enough Vermiculiite into the box to create a 1.5” to 2” layer on the bottom of the box.

 

  1. Place the filled bottles (caps were hand tightened) into the package on top of the Vermiculite.  Note:  The screw cap was secured to the bottles using one (1) strip – 1” pressure-sensitive vinyl electrical tape.

 

  1. Pour enough vermiculite into the box and around the bottle.  the bottlesmust be separated from each other as follows (approximate distances):

·        Side protection                            1.5” to 2”

·        Between bottle protection        1.5” to 2”

·        Top and bottom protection        1.5” to 2”

                                                                                                                          

  1. secure the bag by twisting the end together and tucking it under itself.

 

  1. Seal the top of the box with (2 Strips) – 2” clear 375 lb. 3m scotch brand Pressure-Sensitive Tape allowing at least 4” overlap on each side of the box.

 

  1. Do not to cover up any preprinted markings on the box.

 

  1. Label the package with proper shipping name, UN identification Number, shipping labels, etc.

 

  1. Total gross weight of the package must not exceed the weight listed in the UN-Certification Marking.
